How to cancel Hulu

Check who bills you first

Hulu has more billing partners than most services. Besides Hulu itself, the subscription can be charged by Disney, Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku, Spotify, HBO Max, Kroger, or a provider such as T-Mobile, Verizon, Comcast Xfinity or Optimum. Sign in at hulu.com in a browser and open your Account page: the Payment Information section names who bills you. Cancel there, not anywhere else.

Paying Hulu directly

1. Open your Account page at hulu.com in a browser on a computer or phone.
2. Select Cancel under Your Subscription.
3. Hulu may offer to pause instead. Select Continue to Cancel to carry on.
4. Select Cancel Subscription.

Paying through Apple

1. Open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
2. Tap Hulu, then Cancel Subscription, and confirm.

Paying through Amazon, Roku, Google or another partner

Cancel in that company's own subscription settings: Memberships & Subscriptions on Amazon, the subscriptions page of your Roku account, Payments & subscriptions in Google Play, or your plan settings with a phone or cable provider. Hulu support cannot end a subscription that a partner bills.

Bundles with Disney+, ESPN+ or HBO Max

• If you took the bundle through Disney+, manage it in your Disney+ account. If you took it through HBO Max, manage it there.
• If you already had Hulu or ESPN+ before moving to a bundle, cancelling the bundle does not end that original subscription. It carries on at its own current price, with its original biller, until you cancel it separately.
• You can remove add-ons or move to a cheaper plan from the Account page without cancelling Hulu altogether.

What happens after you cancel

• You keep access until the end of the billing cycle you already paid for, and are not charged again.
• On a free trial you also keep access until the trial ends. Hulu + Live TV is the exception: that trial ends the moment you cancel.
• Cancelling does not delete your Hulu account, or the Disney account you may use to sign in.
• To check it worked, open the Account page again. It should read Your subscription will be canceled, and Hulu emails a confirmation worth keeping.

Pause instead

If Hulu bills you directly, you may be able to pause the subscription for up to 12 weeks. Nothing is charged during the pause and the subscription picks up again by itself afterwards, so put the end date somewhere you will see it.
